A look behind the curtain

It’s been a goal of mine for a long time to create my own line of products - primarily candles and sprays, but that’s only a start. I’ll still be creating art and Japamalas, but the seemingly recent additions are not so recent. As a teen I made candles, but those were admittedly not anywhere near the quality that I enjoy and demand now. Yes, I got bougie. As far as sprays go, I learned a few years back how to make my own sprays, and after coming to hate how many of the commercially available ones smelled and made me feel, this seemed like the most logical step. My #1 goal is to make products that I’d like to use (and I actually DO use them. I have several of my sprays on my night stand and use them on my pillow and sheets). If I happen to sell some and have some folks that want to buy them for themselves, that’s great too!

That’s only part of it though, and I’ll be much happier being honest with myself. I want to make these things. I deflected long enough by saying “oh I just want it to be a hobby, I don’t want to invest too much time into it. Then it won’t be fun.” While partly true, that was also a cop-out. I have fun making these things. I have fun making and selling, and having a business/hobby hybrid. I was just afraid to embrace that, and being busy helping clients with their projects - especially around branding and packaging - was also a convenient excuse to not work on my own stuff.

So here we are. I’m not running anymore, and instead of leaving my ideas tucked away in a sketchbook, I’m doing something with them.

The Goods

Recently a few folks got to experience the soft (very soft) launch of a few of my products. This was important for several reasons - it gave me a chance to release some scents out into the wild (insert supervillain laugh), and it’s giving me a low-pressure chance to play with packaging and other aesthetic things. To my surprise nearly everything was bought immediately, and for that I’m grateful. I also wanted to go ahead and reveal the next batch of releases, and what the release schedule is going to be like. I already have a release timeline planned out for the rest of the year - if only I could be this prepared with EVERYTHING. Oh well.

So here’s a breakdown of everything. This isn’t on the main site yet, so if you’re here now consider it a peek behind the curtain.

Collections - these will be the main themes influencing certain scents and creations. These collections won’t go away and can be considered part of the main catalog.

  • Travelogue - inspired by journeys of the soul and of the world.

  • The Bakery - inspired by decadence and satisfying that sweet tooth.

  • Duets - simple but vibrant two-note scents that blend beautifully together in harmony

  • Hearth & Home - scents inspired by your favorite comfort food and drinks.

  • The Funhouse - scents you need to put the little ones to bed for. These scents are bawdy, raunchy, and sometimes plain filthy.

Releases - when you can generally expect new scents to appear.

  • At the moment, new scents are on track to be released every other week. This means there will be at least two new scents a month, maybe more around the holidays. The goal is to spread the releases among the collections so that there is an even amount in each collection. There is an upcoming release from the “Duets” collection at the end of this week, so the next two releases in March will be from the Travelogue and Bakery Collections.

  • Scents will be available in spray, candle, and wax melt form.

That’s all you get for now. If you want to be the first to know about product and scent releases, join the dedicated mailing list. This list will ONLY be for product release information and nothing else. This info will also be posted to my social channels, but if you want to know before that (because let’s be real, sometimes I forget to post there), and want the chance at any pre-sales, the mailing list is the place to be. For maybe one email a month, that’s not too bad.
