Good design creates messages. Great design creates memories.

I help organizations and individuals turn a jumble of Post-it notes and scrap paper into clear, thoughtful design that people just get.

For the past decade, I've helped nonprofits, businesses (large and small), and community organizations communicate more clearly. Brand identities and marketing campaigns have played a large part, but this also includes presentations, publications, nationwide outreach materials, and trade-show graphics. I’ve also been on billboards, a jumbotron, and all the way to Carnegie Hall!

I took a non-traditional path to design, and I'm super grateful for it. Along the way, I picked up a mix of business, customer service, and creative experience that colors how I approach every project. Empathy, curiosity, and genuine collaboration aren't just abstract ideas to me; they're part of the process. They help me build better relationships and create work that connects with the people it's meant for.

Even though my work has appeared in places large and small, my heart has always been with the people and organizations doing meaningful work to support and connect with their communities. I believe good design shouldn't be reserved for whoever has the biggest budget. Everyone deserves their message to be heard.

I don't believe in making work that only looks good in a portfolio or on the ‘gram. (it should absolutely do that, though.) I care about work that helps people understand who you are, what you do, and why they should pay attention. Every project starts with strategic thinking, marketing experience, and a focus on connecting with the people you care about connecting with.

And you shouldn't have to take out a mortgage to make that happen.

A quick note for nonprofits:
Nonprofits are necessary for community support and care. My first creative break (outside of college) was for a nonprofit, so I have a soft spot for them. I offer discounted rates for nonprofits whenever I can, and in some situations, I'm happy to barter or exchange services if that’s an option that will work better.

What do you do, Jess?

A little bit of everything, but the “serious” answer is that I design complete visual systems that help organizations and individuals communicate clearly and authentically and connect with the people they serve and wish to serve. It may sound like I’m too much of a generalist, but here are the areas I specialize in and work in often.

  • Brand Identity & Visual Systems

  • Marketing & Campaign Design

  • Presentation Design

  • Print & Publication Design

Who do you do it for?

Individuals and Groups

Sometimes you’re just doing your own thing and need an identity. Or maybe you’re a part of a club or community and want the same.

  • Environmental Graphics

  • Wayfinding Signage

  • Digital Marketing Assets

  • Creative Strategy

Small Businesses

You don’t need an agency to have a solid brand. I help you build work that’s intentional, strategic and easy to build on.

Nonprofits

Mission-driven work should be seen, heard, and to touch as many hearts (and pockets, let’s be honest) as possible.

A pink fabric patch with blue embroidered text reading '2025 Polar Bear Cyclist' and an embroidered image of a polar bear wearing a red and blue striped scarf, riding a bicycle, with a pink background decorated with small pink dots.

Selected work

A can of Empourium Brewing Company beer with a label reading "No Handlebars, Tropical American Wheat" in the foreground. In the background, there is an outdoor gathering with people sitting on pink and black Adirondack chairs, socializing, and enjoying the event.
A concrete building with digital billboards displaying advertisements for Apple iPhone 16 and AT&T, traffic lights, street signs, and a parking lot with snowy ground. A small dog is sitting near a sign on the sidewalk.
Digital sign in an urban area promoting Bike to Work Day on June 25, 2025, encouraging people to pledge to ride with an emphasis on reading the QR code or visiting BikeToWorkDay.co. The sign features a bicycle wheel with playing cards attached to promote the event.
Digital billboard promoting Winter Bike to Work Day on February 14, 2025, sponsored by Waytag and other transportation authorities, showing a polar bear riding a bicycle with a scarf.

Ready to get started?

You don’t have to know exactly what you want before you reach out. Sometimes it’s much easier to make sense of what’s in your brain (or notebooks) after talking to someone. Me!
