Let’s talk about your project.
Have a design project in mind? Start here.
Instead of starting with a traditional discovery call, I ask new clients to tell me about their project in writing first. Take your time and give me as much detail as you can. Seriously, don’t rush it. The more I know going in, the better I can understand what you need.
Why the form first?
A few reasons.
First, it gives us both a written record of what you’re looking for, so neither of us has to rely on memory later.
It also gives me a chance to review your project before we talk. If we need a call, we already have an outline to work from instead of spending half the meeting figuring out what we’re there to discuss.
And most importantly, it keeps a 30-minute project call from somehow turning into a two-hour conversation about twelve completely different things.
Here’s how it works.
Fill out the project form.
Tell me what you want to make, what you need it to do, who it’s for, your timeline, and anything else you think is important. Links, examples, references, half-formed ideas, and “I don’t know what this is called, but…” explanations are all welcome.More detail is better. You do not need to finish this in five minutes. Take your time with this one.
I’ll review everything.
I’ll look over your project details and follow up with any initial questions. I’ll also let you know if the project sounds like something I can help with and what the next steps will be.If we need to talk, we’ll schedule a 30-minute project call.
Your form becomes our agenda. We’ll use that time to clarify your answers, work through questions, and make sure we’re on the same page before the project begins.Project calls are strictly 30 minutes and are for discussing the project outlined in your form.
Have something else you’d like my help with? That’s what my Office Hours are for. You can book a separate session and give that topic its own time.
Approve your project + make your payment.
Once we’ve nailed down the scope, I’ll send you the final project details and payment information.
Projects $500 and under are paid in full before work begins.
Projects over $500 can be split into two payments: 50% before work begins and the remaining 50% before final files are delivered.
Work does not begin until the required initial payment has been received.
